Concerts

The main concert venue is St Andrew’s church, with seating capacity for 400 performers and audience. There is staging of 5 tiers which can be hired and erected in the chancel for a choir of approximately 120. There is an organ and a grand piano available. The hire of the church as a concert venue also includes the Glass room and kitchen for refreshments and the Blue room is available for changing and leaving personal belongings, and instrument cases.

St Mark’s church is available to hire for small chamber concerts, ensembles or piano recitals. The seating capacity of St Mark’s is 300 people, including performers and audience. There is a separate room for personal belongings and instrument cases, and access to the kitchen for refreshments.

o book the churches for a concert, in the first instance please contact the parish office to discuss dates and logistics. A concert time is not booked until a completed and signed booking form is returned with a non-refundable booking deposit of £50.

Hire rates for 2022/23 for an afternoon rehearsal (from 1pm) and evening concert is £450 without staging, and an additional £50 if staging is required.

For chamber groups, and afternoon concerts when rehearsals are not required, an hourly rate will be charged. Please speak to the parish office about current hire rates.

If tuning of the piano or organ is required please arrange with the parish office. This tuning will be arranged with the regular tuner, which the hirer will be invoiced for.

We ask all concert organisers to ensure that they submit the correct information to the parish office for  the appropriate return to be made for live performances at St Andrew or St Mark churches in regard to Performing Rights Society charges.  If selling alcohol our Premises licence will cover you. Please speak to the parish office regarding arranging this cover.
