Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

This is one of the most important days of the Church year.

We mark this in two ways. At 9.15am at St Mark’s, we have our ‘Family worship for young children’. We’ll be telling a story about poppies that is accessible but should still be serious.

Then at 10.50am (slightly early), we gather in St Andrew’s, for a very short Liturgy including Lawrence Binyon’s famous words: “They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old…” and then two minutes’ silence starting with the Last Post at 11am.

There is then a choral eucharist as usual and we conclude the service by laying a wreath at the war memorial outside St Andrew’s.

All are welcome.
