St Andrew and St Mark church are at the heart of the community; 15,000 people use the church buildings each year.

There are two church sites:

  • St Mark’s on St Mark’s Hill
  • St Andrew’s on Maple Road.

St Andrew’s Church venue hire

The Church contains a number of spaces that can be hired together or separately. They include:

  • the main body of the Church
  • the Glass room at the side which leads on to a small patio
  • a small kitchen which can be hired with the church spaces
  • the Blue room, a further room to the rear.
St Andrew's - Main space

St Andrew’s is a 19th Century structure, with fantastic acoustics. There is a sound system but no projection facilities. The raised chancel space at the front, which is used for the altar and choir on Sunday mornings, can be used as a stage during concerts. There are movable pews which seat 140 people and a further 150 seats available.

St Andrew's - The Glass Room

The Glass Room is a bright and airy room, approximately 40 square metres, with a kitchen accessed via a hatch and patio doors opening onto a small patio area. The maximum capacity of the room is 35 people with 6 bistro tables and 24 chairs, with extra chairs available on request. The kitchen has an oven, hob, and microwave oven, fridge with small freezer, and crockery and glasses for 50 people.

St Andrew's - The Blue Room

The Blue Room is a carpeted room (approximately 65 square metres) which is used for small meetings, activity groups and children parties, with a maximum capacity of 25 people. There are 4 nursery tables and 18 small chairs as well as 40 adult chairs and 3 long trestle tables. It can be hired with the Glass room for children’s birthday parties with access to the kitchen.

The party was fabulous, thank you – the Glass and Blue room are such a great facility and we’re very lucky to have it in the local community

St Mark’s Church venue hire

The Church contains a number of spaces that can be hired together or separately. They include a large and spacious hall with a catering kitchen, and two meeting rooms within the church, and also the main church space. Car parking spaces are available in St Mark’s Court, instructions for use will be given on booking.

St Mark's - Main space

The main body of the Church measures approximately 300 square metres and can seat up to 250 people. There is a projection and sound system facility for presentations. Seating is kept at 140 chairs from day to day, but a further 100 chairs are available onsite for larger groups.

Users are expected to be sensitive to the fact that this space is primarily used for worship so certain activities may be inappropriate for the main church.

St Mark's Church Hall

St Mark’s hall is a large and flexible space (approximately 135m² overall). The flooring is oak veneered, cross laminated sprung timber ideal for dance and exercise classes. We have regular hirers ranging from fitness classes to orchestra rehearsals to children’s activity groups, as well as children’s birthday parties and charity fund raisers. There is a kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, 2 fridges and a freezer, and dishwasher.  There are crockery and glasses for up to 80 people. The hall also provides a projector, screen, and sound system. (N.B.: hirers are expected to use technology from instruction manual; no technical personnel are on site.)  The hall capacity is maximum 80 people seated or 120 or a standing buffet.

We love using the hall every Tuesday afternoon. The staff are fantastic and prompt to deal with and the hall is always in superb condition.

We had such a fabulous birthday party for our daughter, the facilities are great, very clean and bright and not at all like a traditional church hall! We will be back next year.

St Marks - Meeting room 1

This room measures approximately 18 square metres, measuring 5m x 3.6m., and has a table and chairs to conduct a small group meeting.

St Marks - Meeting room 2

Measures approximately 29.5 square metres measuring (8.5m x 3m) + (4m x 1m bay) with an interactive whiteboard, projector and flip chart for all your meeting needs. There are 20 chairs available and tables on request.
