St Andrew and St Mark’s Choir

The Parish has a well-established choral tradition, and new members to the choir are always welcome. The choir rehearses every week on Friday evening (7.30pm) and sings at the Sunday morning Eucharist.

The choir also provides a large musical contribution to all the major services at Christmas, Easter and other festivals. The choir sings choral evensong about once a month and also at weddings. Music is generally in the post-Stanford tradition, but the diet is highly varied, interesting and enriching, with a large amount of Renaissance and high-quality modern choral music included.

‘I’ve been a tenor member of the choir since 1979, when I joined as a student whilst studying at Kingston University’ – Adrian Munt, long standing choir member.

We also have a children’s choir, which rehearses on Friday afternoons at 4:30pm at St Mark’s Church, in five week ‘blocks’.
If you’d like your child to join please come to St Mark’s Church on a Friday afternoon.

Email the parish office, the director of music or the vicar for more details.
This is for children aged between 6 and 12.
