Mothers’ Union

St Andrew & St Mark’s Mothers’ Union Branch

Having been one of the earliest established Mothers’ Unions in the UK (we’ve been going for 123 years!), we are delighted that we continue to thrive and welcome new members, male and female, of any age. We also celebrate long service. This year 4 members have received long service certificates having been members for 50 years and another 4 have been branch members for 40 years – congratulations to them all!

The St Andrew & St Mark’s Mothers’ Union Branch have had some exciting monthly meetings. In March the Revd Robert Stanier led them in Lent Reflections and in April Mike Gidley gave an illustrated talk about the Parish Pilgrimage to the Holy Land that he went on in 2015. In May the members looked at the result highlights of the 2015 Mothers’ Union Consultation. This led to much discussion about the branch activities over the years and much enjoyable reminiscences of past events and friends. In June we welcomed Ann Wright, a Diocesan Speaker, to talk about ‘A Celebration of Faith’, the Mothers’ Union Theme for 2016.
